Whitehaven Sea Cadets - TS BEE

Although TS Bee receives some support from the Royal Navy, with which the Sea Cadet Association has a Memorandum of Understanding, this is in general terms limited to the supply of uniforms and free or subsidised training courses and travel to Naval establishments. For just about everything else - other training, rent, electricity, telephones, tools & equipment, insurance, safety equipment, repairs & maintenance, visits and so-on - we have to rely on our own fundraising efforts.

To this end we hold various events such as raffles, 'bag packs', flag days, bingo nights, sponsored events. And, of course, we are extremely grateful to various organisations and individuals for their support.

We have also joined an online shopping scheme featuring goods and services from reputable, well-known companies. By visiting the website - buy.at/tsbee - we receive a donation for every purchase that you make. You buy direct from High Street shops through their websites (usually at a discount over the normal retail price), and we receive a donation direct from those companies. There are even travel organisations that give us few pence for every holiday brochure that you order online. Well, every little helps! But please remember that we only receive the donation if you go to the retailers' sites through buy.at/tsbee.

We also ask anyone who makes a donation to sign a gift aid form - it costs you absolutely nothing but means that we can reclaim tax on the money you give. So for every £1 you give us, the taxman gives us another 28p.
